About us?

Well it’s more about me really! Plus of course what SubscriptionGames.com is all about (although it’s fairly obvious from the domain name, right!).

I’m Steve, the owner, creator of, and almost sole author of everything you’ll read on this site. That’s me to the right. The one with two legs of course. Unfortunately our beautiful Cookie is no longer with us. RIP Cookie. 

I said ‘almost’ only because a very limited number of pages may be written by other contributors. These will almost always be written by experts in their field, and they’ll always have been vetted by me for accuracy and value before publication.

The info we do carry is intended to be exhaustive enough that we can label SubscriptionGames.com as the most authoritative website dedicated to gaming subscriptions on the internet. From what I’ve seen online on our subject so far, we have a very good chance of achieving that goal.

 

So how did we get here?

Like you, I’m a gaming fan. Is there anybody who isn’t?

It can be an expensive source of entertainment and surprisingly cheap at the same time, depending on which perspective you’re looking from. And I’m not particularly good at it (no manual dexterity and zero co-ordination skills!).

But the point with gaming is you don’t necessarily have to be good. You have to enjoy it.

I have two sons who love playing, the eldest has carried out new game testing by invite with Sony in London, and the youngest just got his first tournament invite for FIFA. He’s just starting out on the road. It’s in the blood somewhere!

So around a year ago I started hearing more about cloud gaming and subscriptions, and thought it could be a valuable exercise to create a site around the subject.

The first step was registering a suitable domain name, and fortunately this extremely apt generic one was free. It’s taken a while to find the time to start building, and the time was right heading towards the back end of 2020.

So we’re live….and there is much more to be published in order to cover our subject well. I’ll be doing that over the coming months.

If you see anything here that you disagree with, just think I have wrong, can add to, or wish to comment on then feel free to contact me.

Plus if you can write entertainingly about specific games (although I can write about the overall subject well, I’m not so good at individual game reviews) then feel free to send anything in. We can discuss publishing under your bio. Who knows, you may be looking to build a career in writing about games and getting published here may get you some valuable reference points.
